We will post pictures of dogs that are ready to be adopted with a profile description. Dogs that are in proximity can be visited to determine if it is a match with the family/individual interested. Once a dog is selected, you will be required to complete an application and to submit the adoption fee appropriate for the dog.
Before You Adopt
Please make sure you have considered the financial obligation involved in caring for an animal companion. This includes routine veterinary and emergency care as well as food, supplies and training. Although we can give you a general idea of costs, it is best to check with veterinarians, trainers and supply stores for prices before adopting.
Be honest with yourself about the time you have to train, groom and exercise the dog you have chosen. Some things to keep in mind: Do you have the patience to let the dog become acquainted in his or her new surroundings? Do you work long or erratic hours, travel often or dislike outdoor exercise? Figuring this out will help you make the best match!
Some Requirements

Homeowners: Send a document that proves you own your home (mortgage bill, tax bill, water bill, or deed).
Renters: Send a copy of your lease and the contact information for your landlord. We will speak with your landlord to verify their pet policy. We recommend you alert your landlord to this ahead of time and make sure you have clearance from them to adopt a new pet.

Haiti Street Dog Project (HSDP) has developed a partnership program to provide a foster care. This program is intended to enable individuals/families to take in our street dogs until their time of transition to a permanent home setting or the next level of care. This program is solely designed for dogs that have been rescued by our program and are ready to go into foster care. Fosters are responsible for the entire care of the dog that they are fostering. Due to so many dogs in Haiti, we are unable to provide resources to assist with the fostering at this time. We will arrange all the logistics to ensure your foster experience is smooth.
For USA residents interested in fostering one of our dogs, please note that each case is unique in getting a dog to you. In some cases, foster families are already visiting Haiti and will return with their dog back to their country. Other cases are when we have someone traveling and will return/bring in a dog for us. If you are willing to come to Haiti to pick up your dog, we can arrange the logistical details with getting one of our dogs. Please reach out to us at contact@haitistreetdogproject.org to discuss plans for fostering. One of our team members will set up a meeting with you to go over the specific plans.
